Sunil Chhetri has revolutionised football after completing 70 goals against Tajikistan, the highest any Indian has ever scored and the second highest internationally. Christiano Ronaldo has scored 88 international goals making him the highest goal scorer yet. Argentina's Messi has scored 68 goals making him the third highest goal scorer. Fans have been congratulating Chhetri on social media for beating Messi's score. In an interview with a popular publication, Chhetri had spoken about promoting football in India and gave a heartfelt message to his fans, he said, "You guys can do a lot. Talk about it. Write about it. Make sure you cover not only the major tournaments but also the school tournaments. Go and meet the kids who are playing and promote them. Every sportsperson wants to play in a jam-packed stadium. I think fans do not understand how important they are. Whenever you get a chance, come and watch sports. Let it be football or some other game. Watch it in a stadium. That is the best experience."
